It has been an honor to serve as Executive Director for the What If Foundation this past year. I have learned so much and felt grateful to witness — time and time again — what is possible when the incredible generosity of our donors meets with the incredible resilience and ingenuity of our Haitian partners. Unfortunately, family circumstances at this time require my full attention, making me unable to fulfill my duties to the organization. I’ll be stepping down from my role this week.
I leave the What If Foundation in the capable hands of our Board Chair, Catherine Lelong, who will serve as interim until a permanent Executive Director is found.
Thank you for all your kind words, interesting conversations, and for all that you do to change lives in Ti Plas Kazo. You are living proof of the power of compassion.
Together in Service,
A message from our Board Chair:
We are sad to see Dave leave and are grateful for his dedication and passion for our mission, the organization and the children and families in Ti Plas Kazo.
Over the past ten months, Dave has expanded the What If Foundation’s reach and helped create new systems in the organization to position us for growth. We thank him for his service and wish him all the best in whatever he chooses to do next.
While our Board of Directors searches for Dave’s successor, I will be serving as Interim Executive Director, laying the groundwork for new leadership and ensuring that the transition runs smoothly.
Speaking of our Board, I am excited to share with you that we have recently welcomed five new volunteer members, all of whom bring new expertise and perspective to the future of What If. Wadner Pierre, who spoke to you in a recent newsletter, Sophis Dorsainvil, Joy Chesbrough, Adam Michael Royston, and Kelly Abundo. You can read more about them and what motivated them to join us in our team page.
I am hopeful about the year ahead as we celebrate our 20th anniversary with you, sharing the stories and accomplishments we’ve achieved together and the dreams for what we’ll do next. As Na Rive has taught us, with hope, patience and resilience, anything is possible.
I look forward to connecting with you more often and please don’t hesitate to reach me at email@example.com if you have any questions or comments you’d like to share.
With gratitude and hope,
Board Chair and Interim Executive Director
