FUND RAISERS:
SEPTEMBER 12, 2010 — St. Helena, CA – “Plate By Plate: An event for hope and possibility in Haiti”, a benefit for the What If? Foundation at Tres Sabores Winery. There will be food and wine tasting and a silent auction. Tastings will be prepared by Napa Valley chefs from COOK Restaurant and CIA using locally grown produce. Margaret Trost will speak at the event.

SEPTEMBER 21, 2010 — Macon, GA — “Peace Day”. For the past 4 years, Mount de Sales Academy has celebrated the International Day of Peace with a “Peace Week”, focusing on peace efforts all across the globe. Margaret Trost will be keynote speaker at this year’s event.
NOVEMBER 5-7, 2010 — Milwaukee, WI — “National Call to Action Conference”. Margaret Trost will be a featured speaker at the conference. Focusing on intergenerational equity, the conference will explore how different generations respond to the call to be faith-filled and speak justice and love to a world that is in desperate need of a new vision. Other featured speakers include Joan Chittister, John Shelby Spong, Diana Hayes, Kate Dugan, Jennifer Owens and Asra Nomani.

NOVEMBER 9, 2010 — Milwaukee, WI — “Feeding the Children: The What If? Foundation Success in Haiti”. Margaret Trost will talk about the What If? Foundation and the programs it funds in Haiti as well as post-earthquake Haiti. Given that some of the people coming to the talk have read her book, she has also been asked to give a brief update of what has happened since she published her book, On That Day Everybody Ate (Koa, 2008). 7:30-8:30pm at the Central United Methodist Church, 639 North 25th Street, Milwaukee, WI 53233.
